These instructions are for people who want to upgrade or have accidentally upgraded to 1.1.2
Please read these instructions carefully.
Step 1. (Only use this step if you have upgraded to 1.1.2 already)
If you have already upgraded to 1.1.2, you will first need to downgrade to 1.1.1.
To do this, download the iPhone 1.1.1 firmware by clicking here.
Next, open iTunes on your computer, plug your iPhone in then select it, and press Shift (or Control on a Mac) and the Restore button, then select the firmware file you downloaded.
If you can not see the restore button, while your iPhone is plugged in, hold down the home and hold buttons on your iPhone for exactly 10 seconds, release the hold button but still keep holding the home button for another 15 seconds. You should now be able to use the Restore button as directed above.
After the restore is complete, you should get an error, this is normal.
To fix the error download either iBrickr (Windows) or iNdependence (Mac), and use the options included within them to boot the phone out of restore mode.
Once you are back to the "Slide for Emergency" screen, you may continue to Step 2.
Step 2. (Only use this step if your iPhone is 1.1.1, or you just downgraded)
You now need to prepare your iPhone for the 1.1.2 jailbreak and activation, you will need to follow steps 1 to 7 by clicking here.
Once those steps have been completed and you have access to your iPhones home screen, please continue to Step 3.
Step 3.
Now open Installer by taping on the Installer icon, go to the "Tweaks (1.1.1)" category, and install the package called "OktoPrep".
Step 4.
You're now ready to upgrade your iPhone. Open iTunes and click the "Check for Update" or "Update" button then until you are prompted to install version 1.1.2.
Once completed, you can continue to step 5 below.
Step 5.
Now that your iPhone is upgraded, click here to download the jailbreak program. When downloaded, unzip the files and choose the version for your operating system ("windows.bat" file is for Windows users and the "jailbreak.jar" file for Mac users).
Once completed, continue to step 6 below.
Step 6.
Now open Installer by taping on the Installer icon, go to the "Tweaks (1.1.2)" category, and install the package called "iWorld".
Press the home button to return to the main screen and you should see a new icon, run the program and when done you can uninstall it.
If you have not unlocked already you will need to follow steps 8 to 11 by clicking here.
Step 7.
You're are done!
Once the iPhone has been restarted twice (once by you, once automatically as prompted), your iPhone should be jailbroken, activated and Installer.app installed so that you may add applications and packages as you wish.
